Terms of Service

The service

AnswerLabs provides AI voice agents that answer your inbound calls and, where you configure it, place outbound calls on your behalf. You configure what the agent knows and how it behaves; we run it.

Your responsibilities when calling people

This is the part that matters most, because outbound calling is where the legal risk sits and it sits with you, not with us.

  • You must have a lawful basis for calling every number you upload. Consent that you can evidence, or an existing relationship that permits contact.
  • You must comply with TRAI's commercial communication rules, including registration requirements and calling-hour restrictions where they apply to you.
  • You must not upload numbers scraped, purchased, or otherwise obtained without a basis to contact them.
  • You are the data fiduciary for everyone you call. We process their data on your instructions.

We enforce some of this in the product — working-hour windows, suppression lists, and an in-call opt-out the agent always honours — but those are safety nets, not a transfer of responsibility.

Things we do regardless of your settings

Two behaviours are not configurable, because they belong to the person on the call:

  • If someone asks not to be called again, the agent removes them immediately and ends the call. You cannot switch this off, and the agent will not try to talk them out of it.
  • If someone asks whether they are speaking to a machine, the agent tells them the truth.

Call recording

Recording is off by default. If you enable it, the agent discloses it at the start of every call, and we keep a record that the disclosure was played. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record, and for any additional notice your own regulator requires.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee. The service depends on third parties — a telephony carrier and the speech and AI model providers — and an outage at any of them can interrupt calls.

Fees

Prices are the ones on our pricing page for the plan you choose, in Indian rupees. GST is added on top of every amount.

  • To start, you pay your plan's first month and its one-time setup fee (waived while the launch offer lasts). Phone numbers and outbound campaigns unlock once that payment goes through.
  • Each month after that, starting from the date you first paid, we send one invoice: the coming month's plan fee in advance, plus each phone number you held in the month just ended. The invoice is due 7 days after it is issued and comes with a payment link.
  • Minutes past your plan are paid from your prepaid wallet, at your plan's per-minute rate, as each call ends. You add money to the wallet in advance; every top-up is charged with GST and comes with its own invoice. Money in the wallet carries over from month to month.
  • When the wallet runs out: once your plan's minutes are used and your wallet is at zero, outbound campaigns and instant calls pause until you top up. Calls to your number keep being answered until the wallet reaches −₹500, and then stop until you top up. A call already in progress is always completed, so the wallet can go slightly below these amounts; the difference is taken from your next top-up.
  • Minutes are counted per call and rounded up to the next 6 seconds. Unused minutes do not carry over to the next month.
  • Changing plan: an upgrade takes effect straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the current month when you make it. A downgrade takes effect at the start of your next month.
  • Late payment: if an invoice is still unpaid 3 days after its due date, you cannot rent new numbers or start campaigns until it is paid. Your agent keeps answering calls in the meantime, so your own customers are not affected.
  • No refunds: payments are not refunded once made, including when you cancel. See Cancellation & Refunds.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time from your dashboard (Payments → Delete account). It takes effect immediately: your phone numbers are released, and your calls, recordings, leads, campaigns, files and your team's logins are deleted. Download your leads first if you want them (Leads → Export CSV). We keep invoices and payment records, as tax law requires, and invoices issued before you close remain payable.

We may suspend an account that is using the service to call people unlawfully. In practice we will contact you first unless the harm is ongoing.
